My friend (sherlock fan) said we should do a cosplay thing like this. As in we would kiss. I told her I was asexual and she kept insisting. Do you need to be romantically attached to your partner cosplay like that?

No, not at all. We (me and John) had didn't even met each other for real before we did this and I wasn't romantically attached to her at all. We just... went with the flow hah.
